Apr 8, 2025 Ultrassist

Instruction Manual:

Overview:

The Pediatric Intraosseous (IO) Leg Trainer is designed for healthcare professionals to practice intraosseous injection techniques in a pediatric setting. This realistic simulator replicates the tibia and patella anatomy, providing hands-on training for needle insertion, infusion, and fluid flashback.

Set-Up Instructions:

Step 1: Loosen (but do not remove) the bone's vent cap to allow air to escape during filling.

Step 2: Attach a syringe pre-filled with simulated blood (red liquid) to the trainer.

Step 3: Inject the liquid into the bone. Once fluid emerges from the port, tighten the vent cap.

Step 4: Place the skin cover over the leg.

Step 5: Begin intraosseous injection practice.

Step 6: After removing the IO needle, seal the needle site with wax to prevent leakage.

Bone Replacement Instructions:

Unscrew the bone connector to remove the used bone. Insert a new bone and securely tighten the connector to ensure stability.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

  1. Withdraw any remaining liquid from the bone using a syringe.

  2. Flush the cavity with clean water by injecting and withdrawing repeatedly.

  3. Clean the trainer's surface with water or wet wipes.

  4. Allow the model to dry thoroughly before storing.

  5. Keep away from high temperatures and direct sunlight.

Safety Guidelines:

  • For simulation training only. Do not use on humans or animals.

  • Use only the accessories provided for this trainer.

  • Keep simulated blood powder out of children's reach and avoid ingestion.
