Promotional/Copy Writer

The Promotional Writer is a member of the Marketing Creative team and is responsible for executing a variety of copywriting projects including, but not limited to, promotional articles, emails, digital and print advertisements, mailers, brochures, posters, booklets, and other product-compliant promotional materials both online and offline. The job of the Promotional Writer is to creatively and strategically promote the product. The Promotional Writer is responsible for managing marketing content across platforms from concept to final execution.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Researches, writes, and edits various marketing materials including, but not limited to, promotional articles, brochures, newsletters, direct mail, advertisements, social media, and email campaigns.
  2. Work regularly with a team of graphic designers and project coordinators to develop creative ideas and concepts using a proactive and strategic approach.
  3. Ability to independently write clear, persuasive, and original copy.
  4. Attention to detail, proofreading copy, checking spelling and grammar.
  5. Flexibility to revise, modify or redevelop campaigns based on feedback from marketing managers, marketing leadership, and/or departmental clients.
  6. Interact with team and/or clients to identify solutions to challenges and provide feedback on communications programs.
  7. Create HTML with the assistance of Dreamweaver software programs to execute effective campaigns.
  8. Juggle multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes under pressure and often under tight deadlines.
  9. Engage in continuous learning through competitor research and professional development to strengthen writing skills and familiarize with marketing trends for medical education products.


Qualifications, Certifications and Competencies

Minimum Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in English, Medicine or a related field.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication writing skills.
  3. Must be able to understand and follow directions and work with limited supervision.
  4. Must be able to work well with customers and co-workers and have a positive attitude while being courteous, detail-oriented, proactive, hardworking, trustworthy, and possess strong organizational skills.
  5. Have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals. Ambition to grow and progress. Ability to think creatively and critically and solve problems effectively. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  7. With or without work experience is ok.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in English, Medicine, or related field from a four-year college or university.
  2. Familiarity with HTML, and social media.
